A Symphony of Praise: Our Guatemala Journey
This Guatemala project was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and we are so thankful for God's hand of safety and protection over our team. Our mission on this project was to encourage the local church, provide much-needed instruments, and share the love of Jesus through worship and music. It was a beautiful time of praise, highlighted by several incredible concerts where our team was joined by a magnificent 80 voice multi-church choir that led the congregations in powerful worship.
Watch the recap video to hear some of the stories of what God was doing in Guatemala on this project.
The Sound of Praise
God truly used our music to open hearts and invite people into worship across Guatemala. When our orchestra was joined with the choir in several concerts, we presented powerful arrangements from the God With Us and God In Us musicals, and the response from the congregations was overwhelming as everyone joined together in singing praises to the Lord!
One of the absolute biggest highlights of the trip took place during our performance at New Life Baptist Church, which is uniquely located right inside the El Punto shopping mall. At the end of the service, Pastor Nelson gave an invitation to the congregation, and five people responded to the call and accepted Christ for the very first time! Seeing those lives transformed forever by the Gospel was an unforgettable moment that made the entire journey worth it.
The Heartbeat of Connections
Beyond the music, this project was deeply defined by the personal relationships we built and the ways we were able to bless the local community. Sharing the love of Jesus through real human connection is the true heartbeat of our ministry.
Joy in the Mountains: At the Valle de Los Angeles Orphanage, 200 children experienced a live orchestra for the very first time. We spent a wonderful afternoon connecting with the kids over lunch, a World Cup game, and cookies from their bakery.
The Legacy of a Trumpet: We were privileged to gift a professional Shires trumpet to Armando, an award-winning Cuban trumpet player who had been without a quality instrument. The trumpet was donated by a late friend from a church orchestra in Houston, and it is amazing to know his instrument is still being used for God's glory.
Tears of Gratitude: Our team member, Meg Reiner, surprised a young man from a previous trip with a beautiful, brand-new flute. He was completely overwhelmed, shaking and crying tears of pure gratitude for the gift.
Whether we were reuniting with old friends or making brand-new ones, cultivating these relationships was a beautiful reminder of God’s goodness.
